Nerja & Playa Burriana

Beaches, culture, and coastal life — 6.5 km from your villa

Nerja is a proper Spanish coastal town — not a resort, but a place with its own rhythm, a bustling old quarter, and some of the best beaches in Andalucía. From your villa, it’s a 10-minute drive or a scenic 20-minute bus ride.

Don’t Miss

Balcón de Europa

This iconic clifftop promenade was named by King Alfonso XII during an 1885 visit, when he declared it “the balcony of Europe.” Built on the site of a former gun battery, it offers sweeping panoramic views across the Mediterranean, with old cannons still standing guard — the perfect spot for a sunset stroll.

Cuevas de Nerja

One of Spain’s most spectacular natural monuments, these vast caves shelter extraordinary geological formations and prehistoric rock paintings dating back thousands of years. The cavernous halls double as an atmospheric concert venue, and the sheer scale of the stalactites and stalagmites makes this an unmissable underground experience.

Inside the Cuevas de Nerja

Playa Burriana

Nerja’s flagship beach has earned multiple Blue Flag awards for its pristine waters and excellent facilities. Beyond sunbathing, it’s a hub for sea-kayaking and scuba diving, with a lively strip of chiringuitos and restaurants lining the shore — everything you need for a full day by the sea.

Parador de Nerja

Perched on the clifftop with sea-facing gardens rolling to the edge, the Parador is a destination in its own right. Non-guests are welcome to use the tennis courts or unwind with a cocktail on the terrace, watching the sun sink into the Mediterranean — an impossibly civilised way to spend an afternoon.

Where to Eat

Ayo’s — Playa Burriana

A Nerja institution since 1969, this internationally famous chiringuito serves enormous paellas made with the day’s fresh catch, cooked over open fires right on the sand. Grab a table on the beach, order a jug of sangría, and watch the spectacle — casual, legendary, and utterly delicious.

34 Carabeo

Consistently featured in the Michelin Guide, this intimate restaurant at Hotel Carabeo serves creative Mediterranean cuisine with an emphasis on fresh local produce. The charming garden and patio setting, paired with an excellent wine cellar, make it Nerja’s top choice for a special evening out.
